Plain blanks versus graphic shirts
Plain blanks live or die entirely on fabric and construction, because there is nothing else to judge. Graphic shirts add print quality to the list of things that can go wrong, but they also hide minor fabric inconsistencies. If you want something that will last, buy a heavier blank with no print; if you want something expressive, budget for the print ageing faster than the shirt.
How to read a measurement table
Listed measurements are taken flat, so chest figures are half the circumference and you need to double them. Length is usually measured from the shoulder seam next to the collar down to the hem. Sellers sometimes measure from the very top of the collar instead, which adds roughly a centimetre, so treat a one to two centimetre discrepancy as normal rather than as a problem.
Shrinkage expectations by fabric
Pure cotton shrinks most, cotton-polyester blends move very little, and anything described as pre-shrunk has already had most of the movement taken out of it. Shrinkage is mostly in length, so a shirt that fits perfectly when new can end up noticeably short. Buying one size up in length is the standard workaround among buyers who reorder this category regularly.
